Wellness content has a way of making you feel behind — the ice baths, the sunrise runs, the eleven-step mornings. My version is smaller: three things that live on or near my desk, because if it's not within reach while I'm working, it doesn't happen.
The greens I actually finish
I've abandoned more greens powders than I can count, always for the same reason: they tasted like mowing the lawn. This one is zero-sugar and genuinely fine — good, even, over ice. One scoop in the morning while I read comments. Is it a magic potion? No. Is it the easiest way I've found to stop negotiating with myself about vegetables before noon? Yes.
The bottle that lives in my eyeline
I tried apps, alarms, and cute small glasses. What worked was making the water impossible to ignore: one bottle I actually like, parked in my eyeline all day. The flip-top gives you the choice of sipping through the straw or swigging — which sounds like nothing until you realize it's the reason you keep reaching for it. Refill at lunch, done by dinner, no thinking involved.
Magnesium for the wind-down
The evening half of the stack. I take it about an hour before bed as the signal that the workday is actually over — which, when your desk is also your studio and your kitchen table, is a line worth drawing on purpose. It's the gentlest thing I've tried that still noticeably helps me settle.
What I skipped on purpose
- Anything that requires a blender before 9am. Be honest with yourself about whether you'll wash a blender daily. I will not.
- The 40-ingredient super-powder. If I can't tell you why an ingredient is in there, I'd rather not drink it.
- Subscription-only anything. If I stop loving it, I want to just… stop.
That's the whole stack. Not a transformation, just three small defaults that make the average day a little better — which, over enough average days, is the whole game.
